Car Smashes Into Wall Of Tunnel In China

A driver jerked the steering wheel to shun a piece of plastic film but smashed into the wall of a tunnel in south-west China’s Chongqing Municipality on Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, no casualty was incurred, according to police.
The accident occurred inside a tunnel in Youyang County of Chongqing on the Baotou-Maoming Expressway.
The surveillance video shows that a piece of the white plastic film suddenly appeared in the tunnel, and several cars passed by and brought it forward by a dozen meters. Thirty seconds later, the car involved in the accident entered the scene.
Then the driver suddenly turned the steering wheel, obviously trying to shun the film, yet the car got out of control, hit the right side of the tunnel and made an 180-degree turn.
Traffic police rushed to the site after the accident, cordoned the site and organised the rescue.
“We learned that the driver in this accident is not experienced in driving on expressways. In face of an emergency, he failed to take proper measures, which led to the accident,” said Yao Tao of the Chongqing Traffic Administration Law Enforcement Brigade.
